Palmarosa oil is often used in aromatherapy as a means of reducing stress levels and easing anxiety. It also has strong sedative properties and can help you get a good night’s sleep allowing your body to heal itself and rejuvenate. Palmarosa is known as a rich source of geraniol – which is the main active ingredient of the plant. Geraniol is also the main compound that acts as a repellent and will keep mosquitoes, flies and spiders at bay and it is safe for topical application to the skin when diluted in the correct ratio with a suitable carrier oil. Also ideal as a Green, Non Toxic cleaning agent for your Bathroom.
  • As a steam treatment for a good night’s sleep add 6-8 drops, along with lemongrass oil in a a bowl of boiling water, towel over your head and inhale for roughly 5-10 minutes and you’ll be sleeping like a child again in no time.
  • Add a few drops of palmarosa with lavender to your diffuser to rejuvenate the body, mind and spirit.
  • To keep bath mats and rugs smelling fresh between washings, scent 1/2 cup baking soda with 8 – 10 drops palmarosa. Sprinkle on the mats/rugs, wait 15 minutes, and then vacuum.
